How it started
It started in Seattle.
It's where I grew up. It's where I learned that life is beautiful, and painfully tragic,
and that those two realities can co-exist inside a story that arcs towards the former.
I live in Pittsburgh now, but part of Seattle is stuck inside me and it won't leave. I love
the water and the mountains, and I love the memories of growing up with friends and family.
All of that will always be part of my music.
How it's going
On the suggestion of my brother, I wrote a song for the first time when I was 17 years old. I wrote
it
on a plane, which always puts me in a sentimental mood. It was not good. Evidently, though,
something began then that still continues.
Nine years later, I released Sea Salt Air, my first (and only) song. I need to
pick up the pace significantly if an album is every going to happen.
But, like I said, the story continues, and it's going to be a good one.
Where it ends
You know? I'm not exactly sure. But here's what I want to do.
I want to make beautiful music that's worth hearing for it's own sake. I want to share that music
for
the good of anyone who wants to listen.
And I want to prevent my desire for money and respect from ruining my ability to make beautiful
things.
I hope you'll join me, and I hope it's interesting and massively entertaining along the way.
